St Mary's Church, Mudgee, celebrates 150 years: special Mass and Parish Dinner on 29 November

2026 marks 150 years since the extended St Mary's Church was completed, blessed and opened. To celebrate this milestone in our Church history, a special Mass will be held at 5.00pm, followed by a Parish Dinner, on Sunday 29 November.

The first recorded Roman Catholic Mass in Mudgee was celebrated by Fr Michael O'Reilly in February 1839 in a cottage. Fr O'Reilly's parish extended from Bathurst, bounded by Goulburn to the south, Sydney to the east and undefined boundaries to the north and west.
